Free tools

15 tools, 49 networks, no account.

15 tool types, each built for all 49 networks: 735 pages, every one tuned to its network's real rules. Networks disagree about what a character is. X turns every link into 23 of them and counts an emoji as two. Bluesky counts graphemes, so a family emoji is one character and not eleven. Almost every tool on the web runs JavaScript's string length and calls it a day, which is wrong on both. These behave the way each network behaves, and the ones marked “in your browser” never send anything anywhere.

Character limits, with a source on each

28 of 49verified against the network's own documentation. The rest say so rather than showing a number we got from memory, because a character limit is one people act on.

Why these are free

Most of these transform text you already typed, so they run on your machine and cost us nothing per use. The writing tools call a model, on the cheapest one that does the job properly, and they are rate limited rather than metered so nobody has to hand over a card to try one.

What you will not find is a tool that asks for your email before it shows you the output. If a page needs an account to be worth using then it is the product, and the product is on the front page.
