Who should stay with Buffer
If your channels live on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or Google Business, stay with Buffer for now. Those networks are planned in our catalog but they publish in Buffer today, and their Community inbox already covers them.
If you want a mature hosted product with support staff and no server to think about, Buffer is exactly that, and our hosted version has not launched.
If you run one or two channels, Buffer's free tier or a $10 a month bill is a perfectly good deal, and switching would save you nothing.
Buffer earned its place. It has been scheduling posts since 2010, the free tier is honest, and the product is polished in the way only fifteen years of iteration produces. The reasons people search for an alternative are structural, not quality complaints: the bill grows linearly with every channel you add, approvals sit on the most expensive plan, and there is no version of Buffer you can run yourself.
GrowSocialelion attacks exactly those three walls. Channels are not a billing unit, because the AGPL app is free to run and connects whatever the adapters support. Approval workflow is not an upsell, it is the core safety model: the agent proposes, you approve, per action type. And the code is public, so the worst-case scenario is a fork, not an export.
