SocialPilot vs GrowSocialelion, on the record
| SocialPilot | GrowSocialelion | |
|---|---|---|
| AI content | AI credits metered per plan: 500 on Essentials, unlimited on Ultimate | The agent drafts per network, in your voice, from live research |
| Approvals | Client approval on Premium, $100 a month billed monthly | Every agent action is approval-gated: human, semi-auto or autopilot, per action type, in the free app |
| Free plan | None; 14-day trial, then $17 to $200 a month | The full app is free to self-host under AGPL-3.0 |
| Agent access | An MCP server integration is listed in their plan feature table | MCP from day 0; the same publish tool the UI uses |
| Cost past the account cap | $4 a month per extra account, $5 per extra user | Self-hosted: $0, accounts are not billed |
We build GrowSocialelion, so read the table knowing that. Every SocialPilot fact on this page comes from SocialPilot's own pages, checked 2026-08-27. If a price changed since, their page wins.
Both sides of the ledger
What SocialPilot does well
Ten networks, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest and Google Business Profile, with bulk scheduling of up to 500 posts at once via CSV. (source, 2026-08-27)
Per-account pricing is among the cheapest in the category: extra accounts cost $4 a month and extra users $5, on top of any plan. (source, 2026-08-27)
Review management and review generation for local businesses ship alongside the scheduler, a pairing most competitors sell separately. (source, 2026-08-27)
Where SocialPilot stops
No free plan exists. Every tier is paid after a 14-day trial, so the cheapest way to keep using SocialPilot is $17 a month billed annually. (source, 2026-08-27)
Client approval workflows and white label reports are locked to Premium at $100 a month billed monthly; advanced white label waits on Ultimate at $200. (source, 2026-08-27)
Accounts are the billing unit. Essentials caps you at 5, Standard at 10, and every account past the cap adds $4 a month to the bill. (source, 2026-08-27)
Closed source and SaaS only. There is no self-host option and no license to inspect. (source, 2026-08-27)
Who should stay with SocialPilot
If you publish to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or Google Business Profile, stay with SocialPilot for now. Those networks are planned in our catalog but they publish there today.
If you run local-business clients, SocialPilot's review management and review generation cover Google and Facebook reviews in the same tool. We have nothing comparable.
If your workflow is batch-first, bulk CSV scheduling of up to 500 posts is built in from the Standard plan, and our hosted version has not launched.
SocialPilot competes on arithmetic, and it wins its bracket. Five accounts for $20 a month undercuts most of the category, extra accounts are $4, and bulk scheduling 500 posts from a CSV is a real answer for agencies that batch a month of content in an afternoon. The reasons to look elsewhere are structural. There is no free plan, only a trial with a clock on it. The approval workflow an agency needs before anything ships to a client account starts at $100 a month. And the account cap means the bill climbs with every client you win.
GrowSocialelion removes the meter instead of discounting it. The AGPL app is free to run, accounts are not counted, and approval is not a Premium feature but the default operating mode: the agent proposes, you approve, per action type. When the code is public, pricing changes are something you read about, not something that happens to you.
Asked before switching
How much does SocialPilot cost compared to GrowSocialelion?

Does SocialPilot have approval workflows?
Yes, client approval workflows start on its Premium plan at $100 a month billed monthly. In GrowSocialelion, approval is the core of the product and lives in the free app: every agent action passes a gate you configure as human, semi-auto or autopilot.
Which networks does each support?

GrowSocialelion publishes to 8 today (X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Tumblr, Nostr, Lemmy, DEV) with 30 more researched in the catalog. If your networks are in their list and not ours yet, that difference decides it.
