Fair credit

Both sides of the ledger

What MeetEdgar does well

The evergreen engine defined the genre: an unlimited library organized by category, and when fresh posts deplete, Edgar re-shares older ones automatically so the queue never goes silent. (source, 2026-08-27)

One-click variations multiply each update into several rewrites, and A/B testing shows which phrasing performs. (source, 2026-08-27)

Ten networks including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and Google Business Profile, a 30-day free trial with full feature access, and both plans seat up to 20 team members. (source, 2026-08-27)

Where MeetEdgar stops

No public developer API. Their integrations page lists a Chrome extension, bookmarklets, Zapier, Canva, Bitly, Shopify and Rebrandly, and nothing a program could call directly. (source, 2026-08-27)

No free plan, only the 30-day trial; after it, entry is $29.99 a month. (source, 2026-08-27)

Inky AI runs on credits: 15 a month on Eddie, 50 on EDGAR, extra credits at $2.50 per 100, and they expire every 30 days. (source, 2026-08-27)

The Eddie plan caps content categories at 4 and automations at 10 a week; extra social accounts bill at up to $4.99 each per month. Closed source, no self-hosting. (source, 2026-08-27)

Honesty

Who should stay with MeetEdgar

If automatic re-sharing is the point for you, stay with MeetEdgar. Refilling a queue from an evergreen library is exactly what Edgar does and GrowSocialelion deliberately does not; our agent writes new posts instead of resurfacing old ones.

If you publish to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest or Google Business Profile, MeetEdgar covers them today. Of their ten networks we share only X and Bluesky so far; the others are researched but not yet live here.

If post variations and A/B testing drive your process, that is a MeetEdgar feature with no counterpart in our app.

MeetEdgar built the evergreen category before anyone named it. You fill a library once, sort it into categories, and Edgar keeps posting from it forever, re-sharing older updates whenever fresh ones run out. Variations and A/B testing stretch each entry further. If your content ages well, that is a hands-off machine with a 30-day trial to prove it. The walls are familiar ones: no free plan after the trial, AI writing metered by credits that expire monthly, and an integrations page whose most programmable item is a Zapier hook, because there is no developer API at all.

GrowSocialelion rejects the rerun premise. The agent researches, writes a new post for each network, and routes it through an approval gate you set per action type: human, semi-auto or autopilot. Nothing is metered, because the AGPL app is free to run on your own machine, and MCP ships from day 0 so your own tools can drive the same publish functions the UI uses. The trade is honest in both directions: we have no evergreen library, no variations, no requeue.

Questions

Asked before switching

How much does MeetEdgar cost compared to GrowSocialelion?

As of 2026-08-27, MeetEdgar's Eddie plan is $29.99 a month ($299 billed yearly) for 5 accounts, and EDGAR is $49.99 a month ($499 yearly) for 25 accounts, with a 30-day trial and no free plan. GrowSocialelion is free to self-host under the AGPL; its hosted version is pre-launch.

Does MeetEdgar have an API?

No developer API appears anywhere on their integrations page; the options are a Chrome extension, bookmarklets, Zapier, Canva, Bitly, Shopify and Rebrandly. GrowSocialelion ships MCP from day 0, exposing the same tools its own agent and UI use.

Is MeetEdgar open source?

No. MeetEdgar is closed-source SaaS with no self-hosting option. GrowSocialelion's entire app is AGPL-3.0 on GitHub.

What does GrowSocialelion not do that MeetEdgar does?

Evergreen recycling end to end: the unlimited library, category queues, automatic re-sharing, one-click variations and A/B testing. Those are MeetEdgar's specialty. Our agent drafts new content from live research instead, and every action is approval-gated.

The hosted app is still pre-launch, so we will not pretend there is a signup. What runs today: the open-source app on your own server, and 500+ free tools that need no account, including character counters whose every limit carries a source, something MeetEdgar's tools do not offer.
